Services and quotes

Each project is governed by a written quote or agreed project description. It should identify the expected work, price, payment schedule, estimated timing and any included revisions or support.

A quote is an estimate based on the information available when it is prepared. Material changes, missing information or additional requests may require a revised quote and timeline.

Unless agreed otherwise, work begins only after you accept the quote and make any required deposit or payment.

Hosting is required

Our setup services require a compatible Minecraft server host. Unless your quote expressly says otherwise:

• You must purchase and maintain suitable server hosting separately.
• Hosting, domain, plugin, mod, licence and subscription fees are not included.
• You are responsible for renewals, hosting limits, backups and the host’s terms.
• You must provide the access and information reasonably needed to complete the work.
• Delays or failures caused by the host, insufficient resources or inaccessible accounts are outside our control.

We do not guarantee the uptime, performance or continued availability of third-party hosting.

Your responsibilities

You must provide accurate requirements, have permission to provide server or account access, keep appropriate backups, review delivered work promptly, use the service lawfully and protect your credentials.

Do not send permanent passwords where a temporary account, invitation or access token can be used.

Payment

Prices and payment dates are set out in the quote. You are responsible for any approved additional work and non-refundable third-party costs incurred for your project.

We may pause work or withhold delivery while an overdue amount remains unpaid. Any timeline may move if payment, access, content or approval is delayed.

Revisions and support

Only the revisions, testing and support stated in the quote are included. Requests outside that scope may be quoted separately.

Third-party updates, game updates, hosting changes, new requirements and changes made by you or another provider after delivery are not automatically included as free revisions or support.

Third-party tools and licences

Projects may use Minecraft server software, plugins, mods, APIs, hosting platforms or other third-party products. Those products remain subject to their own licences, fees, restrictions and availability.

You are responsible for obtaining required licences unless the quote says we will obtain them for you. We cannot guarantee that a third-party product will remain available, compatible, secure or unchanged.

Acceptable use

You must not use our website, services or delivered work to break the law, attack systems, distribute malware or stolen content, harass or endanger people, evade bans or licences, or request harmful or unauthorised work.

We may refuse or stop work that breaches these requirements.

Cancellations and refunds

You may cancel by contacting us. If you cancel before work begins, we will refund amounts paid except for third-party fees or other non-recoverable costs already incurred for your project.

If you cancel after work begins, you must pay for work already completed and committed project costs. Any remaining prepaid amount will be refunded. Change-of-mind refunds are not normally available for completed or delivered custom work.

If we cancel for reasons other than your breach, we will refund the unused portion of amounts paid. Nothing in these terms excludes any refund, remedy or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights that may apply under the Australian Consumer Law.

Ownership

You retain ownership of content and materials you supply. Unless the quote says otherwise, after full payment you may use and modify custom configuration files and other deliverables supplied for your Minecraft server.

Our pre-existing templates, scripts, methods and general know-how remain ours. Third-party materials remain owned by their respective owners and subject to their own licences. You confirm that you have permission to use anything you ask us to include.

Service limitations

We will provide the agreed services with reasonable care, but Minecraft updates, plugins, mods, hosts and other third-party systems can change or fail.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect loss, lost profits, lost data, server downtime or failures caused by third parties, unauthorised changes or circumstances outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

Accounts and termination

You are responsible for activity through your account and for keeping sign-in methods secure. We may suspend an account or stop work where reasonably necessary because of non-payment, misuse, security risk or a serious breach of these terms.

Customers under 18

If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian before accepting a quote or making a purchase. Your parent or guardian must approve the payment and these terms.

Minecraft notice

Obsidian Services is an independent service. It is not approved by, endorsed by or affiliated with Mojang Studios or Microsoft.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms for future website use or purchases. Changes do not alter an already accepted quote unless we agree with you.
